Jewell Law QuickBooks Application Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Jewell Law Group, PLLC (“Jewell Law Group,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information through the Jewell Law QuickBooks application (the “Application”). The Application is a private, internal tool used only with a QuickBooks Online company that Jewell Law Group expressly authorizes.

1. Information the Application accesses

With authorization from the QuickBooks company administrator, the Application may access the following categories of QuickBooks Online information:

  • company name, company identifier, and company preferences;

  • customer names, business names, contact information, account status, and balances;

  • invoices, including invoice numbers, dates, terms, service lines, descriptions, amounts, tax treatment, status, and balances;

  • service items, payment terms, and tax codes; and

  • accounts-receivable and customer-balance reports.

The Application also uses OAuth credentials supplied by Intuit, including a refresh token and QuickBooks company identifier, to maintain the authorized connection. The Application does not request or store the user’s Intuit password or verification codes.

2. How information is used

The Application uses QuickBooks information only to support Jewell Law Group’s internal accounting and invoicing work, including:

  • confirming the connected QuickBooks company;

  • reviewing and searching customer and invoice records;

  • reviewing balances and accounts receivable;

  • preparing customer or invoice proposals for authorized review; and

  • performing an expressly approved customer or invoice action if that capability is separately enabled.

The Application does not use QuickBooks information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or sale to third parties.

3. Local storage and retention

The Application runs locally on an authorized Jewell Law Group Mac. OAuth credentials are stored outside the firm’s OneDrive-synced project in a local application-support folder protected with owner-only file permissions.

QuickBooks records are requested from Intuit when an authorized user uses the Application. The Application is designed not to maintain a separate database containing customer, invoice, or receivables records. Information may remain temporarily in device memory or the browser while the Application is in use. Local device backups or operating-system functions may retain files according to the device owner’s settings.

OAuth credentials are retained until the QuickBooks connection is revoked, replaced, expires, or is removed by an authorized administrator. Technical logs may record startup events, timestamps, and error information, but the Application is designed not to log Intuit passwords, verification codes, client secrets, access tokens, refresh tokens, or the contents of QuickBooks records.

4. Disclosure of information

Information is disclosed only as reasonably necessary for the Application to operate, including communication with Intuit’s QuickBooks Online and OAuth services. Jewell Law Group may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, professional obligations, security requirements, or valid requests from authorized company personnel.

The Application does not sell QuickBooks information and does not share it with advertising networks or data brokers.

5. Security

Jewell Law Group uses administrative and technical measures intended to protect information handled through the Application. These measures include local-only operation, restricted credential storage, limited QuickBooks functions, owner-only credential-file permissions, and review-and-approval controls for permitted customer and invoice changes. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

6. User choices and access

An authorized QuickBooks company administrator may revoke the Application’s access through Intuit or ask Jewell Law Group to disconnect the Application. Requests concerning information maintained in QuickBooks should ordinarily be handled in the controlling QuickBooks company. Requests concerning local Application credentials or access may be directed to Jewell Law Group using the contact information below.

7. Children

The Application is an internal business tool and is not directed to children. Jewell Law Group does not knowingly use the Application to collect information from children.

8. Third-party services

QuickBooks Online and Intuit’s authorization services are provided by Intuit Inc. and are governed by Intuit’s own terms and privacy practices. Intuit, QuickBooks, and related marks are trademarks of Intuit Inc. This Application is not sponsored or endorsed by Intuit.

9. Changes to this Policy

Jewell Law Group may update this Privacy Policy as the Application, its data practices, or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
